Chinese prefolds do not take dye quite as vibrantly as Indian prefolds, so if you are looking for brighter or deeper colors, try our hand-dyed Indian prefolds. The actual colors tend to be a bit softer than they appear on a computer monitor. Many customers buy these colored prefolds for making unique baby gifts. You can embellish them in so many fun ways. Made just for you - I dye these myself under my other company name - Meadowlark Mountain. I use only 100 percent cotton diaper-service quality Chinese prefold cloth diapers and use top-quality fiber-reactive dyes. Some color variation is normal in hand-dyed products. Also, colors will vary from batch to batch.

These are premium Chinese prefolds, made from cotton diaper twill in 4x6x4 layering. These are a standard infant size (14x21 inches before dying, approximately 13x18 inches after dying). If used as diapers, they will fit about 15-30 pounds.

Colored Prefolds Chinese Infant Size - Use and Care:

As with any colored fabric, it is safest to wash colored prefolds with like colors for the first few washes. After that they can safely be washed with your white diapers and they will not bleed color. They are dyed with low-impact dyes that become a part of the fabric. Once the dye is washed away, they are safe for use and do not contain any heavy metals or other chemicals.

Chinese prefolds pill more during the dying process than Indian prefolds. The pills (or fuzzies) will come off after a few more washes.

Wash in warm or hot water and tumble dry. Be careful with detergents that claim to remove residues as they can strip color from hand-dyed textiles such as colored prefolds.
